Re: Help ID Maker

In all likelihood, what you are interpreting as "O-A" is actually "D-A" for David-Andersen of Norway. The scales are the maker's mark. I would love to see a picture of the set.

Re: Help with a Brooch?

Sorry, the piece is neither Bek nor Meyle & Mayer. Those makers did not deal in costume jewelry of that type. In addition, the rhinestones used are treated with an "Aurora Borealis" finish that was not manufactured until 1955, long after Bek and Meyle & Mayer had ceased operations....

Re: Small bowl of possible Norwegian origin?

Looks to me like an early version of the Albert Scharning mark.

Russian Marks on David-Andersen Sugar Tongs

First time I've seen this. Just got a pair of antique sugar tongs by David-Andersen in the robin's egg blue enamel, but they are marked with Andersen's hammer-and-tongs mark AND the Russian "84" and some other marks. Are they import marks? Looks like the Cyrillic initials transcribe to &qu...

Norway Enamel Butterfly - Maker?

Hi all,

I've seen this mark before but can not find a reference for the maker. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Re: Danish silver brooch, maker ID needed please

Yes, Hermann Siersbol. The use of aurora borealis rhinestones indicates that the brooch is post-1955, when the iridescent finish was introduced.

That's great information, thank you. I lived in Schleswig for five years, so it's nice to see a "local" connection.

Re: David-Andersen Designer Sønke?

Thank you, Tosten! How interesting.

Do you think it would be pretty standard for Germans in Norway to alter the spelling of their name from "Sönke" (with the umlaut) to "Sønke" (with slashed "o")?

David-Andersen Designer Sønke?

Hi all, This matte enamel pin/pendant has full marks for David-Andersen as well as the designer, "Sønke." This is the first piece I have come across by this designer - does anybody happen to know when he/she was active? Thanks! http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h110/jritter284/2-37_zps92a...

Re: Dutch marks on Georg Jensen design?

Thank you, Oel.

I am beginning to think the third mark may be "HH;" is it possible that the mark may be that of the importer rather than the maker? The brooch is definitely a Georg Jensen design.

Dutch marks on Georg Jensen design?

Trying to help out a friend; she has this brooch that is obviously a Georg Jensen of Denmark design, but with mysterious marks on the back. It looks to me like possibly the Dutch sword mark, but the "M2" is confusing me, and we can not make out the third mark. Any ideas? Thanks! http://i62...

Re: T @ S on cufflinks

Sounds like probably Turner & Simpson (T&S in circular punches). English assay marks for Birmingham (anchor, not a flower), we'd need to see what the shape of the date letter crest is to determine date.

Re: 935 silver and enamel brooch signed "Depose" and &

LOL - I got all excited while researching the marks on another piece I just got, then I realized this was my own post from 5 years ago that never got resolved... Here's the new piece by the same maker: http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h110/jritter284/1-41_zpsf2f65f4d.jpg http://i62.photobucket.com/...

I believe that is an English piece. Let me see if I can find it in one of my reference books, it looks familiar to me, too.
