Unknown purpose
Hi all - found a bowl (H 13 cm, D 21 cm) with 3 ballfeet an 3 handles. Moscow 1908-17, 5th Artel. All parts orderly marked. What was the original use of this object? I use it for flowers :-) http://i529.photobucket.com/albums/dd334/Postnicov/p01-2.jpg http://i529.photobucket.com/albums/dd334/Postnic...

Re: ЕП and "I. KOPF." mark on a spoon
Hi Ringo - here are the known different marks of J.(I.) Kopf (1896-1930) -just to remember: http://i529.photobucket.com/albums/dd334/Postnicov/kopf.gif The "normal" explanation would be: Russian spoon, Kokoshnik St. Petersburg 1908-1926, maker ЕП (Pankratev E.G. 1898-1908), brought/sold ...

Re: С. П. ВУРГ mark on Spoon
These sheepish discussions off topic lead nowhere! If you feel better: your da man! I know nothing... There is still a problem pending - so use your exorbitant knowledge and explain to us nerds what is the matter with this spoons and this strange mark. At least try with own words...no more quotation...

Re: С. П. ВУРГ mark on Spoon
Without experience you must believe in every book - where else you have the opportunity to see marks - mayby on the forum? By the way there a revised editions of P-L, Edition "UNVES" and "TRIO" 1995, ISBN 5-88682-002-7 and ISBN5-8872-003-0! 1995-1963 = 32 years of new information...

Swiss golden pocket watch
Hi all - I got a pocket watch but have no clue what it is. (Marks, maker, type etc.) Maybe some of the experts can help to enlighten me! Re: С. П. ВУРГ mark on Spoon
Dear Silverport - Maybe I did not understand your article 100 % but it is perhaps important to explain the connections of the different threads to you. As you might know no other silver/enamel/niello is so much faked than Russian Imperial objects. 98% of the queries on this board have with lookalike...

Re: С. П. ВУРГ mark on Spoon
Hi all - all my questions stay unanswered. The mantra like repetition of book textes help nobody - everybody knows them already! What helps are own observations, findings and examples (please not from Ivanov or from obscure internet sites). If there are none - it is better to be silent. Rudeness hel...

Hi tugley -
all the informations you got are on point. Only the erotic enamel plaque is not original and was later added. In Russia a cigarette case with visible erotica was unthinkable.

Hi Piette -
there was a long discussion on this board about these marks. Just go back and read.
My opinion: both marks come always together and are fakes.

Re: unknown russian mark from about 1914
Hi Ringo - the spoon is real a riddle. Sometimes you find Russian spoons with engravings you do not understand easy - prisoners of war, Russian-Germans, presents, souvenirs with different, to us unknown backgrounds, etc. Here a photo for better understanding: http://i529.photobucket.com/albums/dd334...

Hi Argentum49 - The only pattern with leather belt and buckles are the cigarette cases simulating a suitcase with engraved handles on the side, but in plain silver. A picture help more than thousand words. Here you go: a plain Russian cigarette case , only with strap/belt and buckle. No cartouche! T...
