Fantastic. Thank you very much. It was indeed a blackthorn walking stick. I'm passing on the information to a number of great great grandchildren. William James Barry came to America from Cork, and became a Harbor Captain in New York City. Died in 1921 at age 86.

Howard James Silver mark on Cane

Inherited this cane from my GGgrandfather. It is supposedly a SHILLELAGH and has a silver band around the handle and silver cap/tip.
