Hi,
I am looking for help in identifying the marks on this dessert spoon. I am pretty sure I have seen them before but can't recall where, can anybody point me in the right direction?
Thanks
Martin.
Looking for the origins of this spoon.
Re: Looking for the origins of this spoon.
Hi Martin,
Well, it must be the Cape, and I presume Lawrence Twentyman, but I've never seen his mark with that typical style of Cape marking before, his mark is usually found with pseudos.
Hopefully someone else can tell us more.

Welz attributes this mark to Twentyman though Trevor is right that Twentyman usually uses pseudos. My assumption is that this mark might represent stock that was bought in from another, Afrikaner silversmith. The device is similar to one found with some of their marks, most clearly to one attributed to Daniel Beets.
