Hello!
Can anybody help me with this hallmark on this silver item? I have absolutely no idea who did it and when. I have a few clues but I´m not sure.
Also there is an graving on the side which looks like "TOLLET VIKTOR" an three ols letters at the bottom.
Never mind the different colours, I cleaned it and it suddenly looked more like silver than gold.
Thanks a lot from cologne, germany.

Re: Need help with silver hallmark
Hi again!
I think I found something: the engraving means "POLLET VIRTUS", which is the motto of the Wellesley Pole family. Underneath there is the family crest: "A Lion's Gamb Erect And Erased Gu., Armed Or". It might refer to Baron Maryborough, but I am not sure.
I still can´t find a connection to the IBB Dresden hallmark and the three engraved letters (can anybody help?).
Thanks a lot from germany!

Hi Ralph,
Welcome to the Forum.
I've resized your images and am moving the topic to the Family Crests section of the forum to see if we have any luck there.

Re: Need help with silver hallmark
I would agree that this is the crest and motto for POLE, but not Pole-Wellesley as that family uses a double crest of the gamb for Pole and demi-lion rampant etc, for Wellesley. I think this might be for the Pole family of Shute House, Devon. The initials are worn, the first appears to be a W and the last appears to be a P. Unfortunately the middle one could be a C, E, G or a T. There was a Sir William Templer Pole, 7th baronet, 1782-1847. His son was Sir William Edmund Pole, 9th baronet, 1816-1895.
