I thought that as well, the * P L R * made me think that the cream pitcher was somehow retailed by Peter L. Krieder, and that was a retailer mark...
I have seen pseudo hallmarks on this silversmith's work, but never this mysterious * P L R * hallmark so this is an interesting thing to think about....
