Unknown Marks WW 800 on Ice Tongs

Post by dartsil »

Hello all,

I wonder if anyone can assist with this WW 800 mark on a pair of ice tongs.

Looking for the maker and hopefully from that we may be able to determine the age.

Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Colin

Hi Bahner,

I see the closeness of the designs and you may well be right on this.

Thanks for your input.

I agree with Bahner and am sure this is Yogya silver. Yogya silver is very common here is Australia and there is a known Yogya silver smith with the maker mark of WW but the identity has not been established. Datewise, it is most likely to be mid 1950's through to early 1970's which was the peak period of Yogya production.

Cheers,
Steve
