Unidentified Tea Strainer

Post by LucyADe »

I have come across this tea strainer, which has the most unusual marks. There are no 925/other grade marks or country marks that I can make out. I’m completely stumped. Any help would be seriously appreciated. The piece does acid test as silver.
Many thanks in advance for your help.

Hi,
The mark looks like French silver plate maker`s mark.
See here:

Acid test is relaible only if it is filed deep enough to reach base metal.
