Post by Stallard99 »

Hi, got this, which I assume is a sugar or salt shaker, makers mark is a little worn but could be Adolf Mayer, do you think this is likely?.

Mark.

Hello, we will need a good photo of the mark, showing it in full and in focus. Regards, Bahner

Found these while researching my item, same design but described as a mustard and with unidentified Hanau marks.

And this in North America described as a caviar pot, with completely different marks again, mark image is from the spoon but are identical to the ones on the item.

Hi,
I suppose you have studied this page:
https://www.925-1000.com/Fgerman_hanau_marks_01.html

Your marks are there, too (crowned N, lion and L).
Silversmiths interacted more often than we can imagine. Even today, jewelers work together and get supplied from the same source, then apply their own marks when selling.
Regards
