Silversmith Maillet Claude Antoine. symbol: eagle. The charge is very interesting. I would like to know if the number to the righ of A is 8.
It's possible to have a more detailed foto? Thank you.

Ehy Clapel, thank you very much for the help! Why you say "8"? For 1789 it's would be 11 or 12, 8 doesn't exist beside A, according to Tardy, pp. 131: 1 for 1784, 2 for 1785, 6 1786, 10 for 1787, 10 for 1788 11 or 12 for 1789; by the way the number is completely hidden by the "dark halo" of the punch....

Hi GiulyF,
Kalandrin is documented to have struck his marks on February 23, 1789.

Quoted from Arch. Nat. Zig 174.
"J.F. Kalandrin, regisseur des droits d'Aides et autres y joints, fit insculper sur una table de cuivre couverte d'argent 96 nouveaux poinçon. Chaque poinçon portait un point de remarque et un numero d'ordre."

Tardy gave incorrect and undocumented information.
Henry Clavel was regisseur until 22 February 1789 with related hallmarks.

To the right of A in your photo there appears to be a number. Check again. Thank you.

Dear Clapel forgive me but I still don't understand your contention, of course there is a number that I don't see now, I will try to check better, what I don't understand is why you say that there must be the number 8 that doesn't fit in the numbers that are below or next to the charge A, the numbers are these: 1-2-6-10-11 and 12, ther's no 3-4-5-7-8-9...

Hi GiulyF,
I'm looking for numeri 8, which I seem to see on the right of A of your tastievin.
Numeri 3 and 5 are documented; search on forum clapel : Kalandrin Regie's marks jurande P88 period.
Numeri 7 and 9, already found, will be documented in my forthcoming note on forum : Kalandrin's marks period 1791/1792.
