Mystery 3-pronged Sterling handle

Post by silvermaid »

I have 2 of these 3-pronged items. The first is about 3 5/8” and the second is about 4”. Both are marked Sterling with no makers mark. They are both also marked Patent Mar 16, 1898. Possibly are sewing, food or something else related?

One possibility is a corn holder, I have them in 1-4 pronged versions, generally they are single pronged.
