Please help me with an I.D.

Post by ddooley »

Hi everyone!
My great-grandmother recently passed away and left me this sterling silver purse. The note she left said it was a gift for her christening. For reference, my great grandmother was born in Lithuania in 1925 and left the country to come to America in 1947.

The piece is gorgeous, and I would really like to know more about it! I have attached photos to the post.

Let me know if anyone needs more info!

Hello, looks like the mark in an oval has been overstruck to make it illegible. PIcs from different angles might tell more. Regards, Bahner

Hello!
The oval mark is very similar to the Russian kokoshnik hallmark of 1899-1926.

Regards.
