Hello all,
I'm just about to reprint my book on French hallmarks, but this time in English, and I realised members of this forum might be able to help me find the remaining assay office marks that were used on French hallmarks in the European towns that France occupied during the Napoleonic wars between 1798 and 1815.
There were 58 such towns, and although I have many of these marks, including all of them for Belgium, I don't have all of them for the Netherlands.
If anyone can give me confirmed marks for the following towns, I'd appreciate it. This is what I have so far but I’d like a confirmation and the mark for the town of 's-Hertogenbosch :
Den Haag N*
Rotterdam N
Middelburg K
Zwolle P
's-Hertogenbosch ?
Groningen Q
Leeuwarden S
Maastricht 65
Roermonde 65*
Breda 70*
Arnhem O
Amsterdam M
Utrecht M*
I've posted a similar message on the board for German hallmarks.
Thanks
