I don't know if the item above is sterling silver or silver plate because I have done a test like on google.

I am from Malaysia, it is quite difficult to find an expert on silver and also silver acid test.

Hello, the mark looks like the letter W in a circle, on top of two lines of text. The picture is to small to read the text, but the mark looks like that of German maker Wilhelm Wolff from Pforzheim. This is silver plate or stainless steel, Wolff never made silver objects. The methods you mention for testing silver are not reliable and should not be taken seriously. Regards Bahner
