A suit for $1,500 has been brought against the Howard Sterling Company by Morris Stein, who alleges breach of contract. He claims that he was engaged as salesman for a year, but that he was compelled to give up work for a while on account of illness, after which the company refused to continue him in his position. The case is being heard in the Supreme Court.

Everett I. Rogers, of Parks Bros. & Rogers, Inc., has the sympathy of the entire trade in the death of his wife, Mrs. Lura Field Rogers, on Thursday.

On Nov. 1 the Howard Sterling Company was reorganized with John J. Connelly, president; S. Ballou, treasurer: W. E. Fiske, secretary, and Superintendent Bender. Hiram Howard, the founder of the company is still a stockholder, but has no official connection with the company. The control of the concern is said to be vested in William Banigan, and that Treasurer Ballou is his representative.

At the annual meeting of the Howard Sterling Company held last Wednesday the following officers were elected: President, J. J. Conley; treasurer, Sullivan Ballou; secretary, W. Edward Fiske; directors, John J. Conley, John J. Banigan, B. C. Parsons, W. Edward Fiske and Sullivan Ballou.

The charter of the Howard Sterling Co. has been amended so that they are authorized to issue $200,000 preferred stock and $300,000 common. Mr. Joseph Banigan, the President of the Rubber Trust, has recently become a stockholder in this enterprising corporation.
