I have a pair of dual candle holders with silver ducks set on pink marble. The base part of each flower pod is marked with 800 and another mark that I cannot identify.
Any idea as to what this mark is — makers mark or assayers mark, and who the maker might be? Thanks!
Whose mark? Surveyor’s tripod or artist easel or telescope?

Hi,
Welcome to the Forum.
Can't help much, but the '800' contained within an oval is likely to be of Italian origin.
See: http://www.925-1000.com/Fitalian_marks_01.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
To me the mark looks like an old fashioned camara on a tripod with the flash assembly at the top and the light restricting sheet draped down the middle.
Trev.
