help identifying who A.P is?

Post by cornishtin »

hi,
does anyone recognise these markings on a set of sugar tongs?

http://www.ledworld.ismysite.co.uk/images/tongs1.JPG" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
http://www.ledworld.ismysite.co.uk/images/tongs2.JPG" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

are they silver plate markings as i suspect or solid silver (hoping)?
thanks in advance

Thomas Prime & Son of Birmingham (letters in the third cartouche are "Pri" over "me"), mid to late 19th century, suspect the "AP" might be an indicator of plating quality.
