Hi,
I posted this request here, because I cannot recognize a specific city hallmark.
I just bought these two silver cups in the shape of shells at an auction, presented as "British sterling".
Their size is 5.3' x 5.3' (13.5 cm). They weight 128 and 138 grams.

Their hallmarks differ slightly. Both have a head, but one has the letters "BA", the other one the letter "B*".
Can somebody tell me more about their origin and date?

Thank you and greetings from Italy

Two British silver shells of unknown origin
Re: Two British silver shells of unknown origin
All I can say for certain is that these are not of British manufacture. I can see why the seller thought this- the left hand mark looks like a British Duty Mark (the monarch's head). They do look like they have some age though.
Sorry I can't be of more help!
