Silver Vase or Urn - unidentified marker's mark

Post by hastidr »

I have an old vase or urn with a shield hallmark with QHH nos (underlined) and either .800 or .900 within the shield. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance, Dustin

Don't know! Is it arabic script under the OHH?

If not I see no reason to believe this is Middle Eastern. Could be Italian maybe.

The mark, and the way the silver standard is described, reminds me very much of similar devices that are struck on Peruvian and Columbian silver.

I'll move the post to that section to see if we get a response.

Here is a Columbian silvermark, to the right of your marks, that has 0,900 fineness.
Looks to me like your 0,900 just has a scratch over it.

Can't identify the manufacturer.
