I'm hoping someone can identify the maker mark. Thanks
Identify Maker Mark
Re: Identify Maker Mark
Although it is not marked as being from Mexico, in style at least, it appears to be from there...

Re: Identify Maker Mark
Nice buckle, there would have also been a matching tip, and possibly a second keeper too (good chance the rubies are genuine)...made by McCabe Silversmiths of Hollywood, CA, 1923-60.

Cheryl:
One other question if you don't mind.
Is it correct that the mark is the original used by McCabe Silversmiths until John McCabe's death in 1938?

Re: Identify Maker Mark
Hi Larry ~ So far as I know, the early McCabe marks were "J.E. McCABE HOLLYWOOD CAL." or "JOHN McCABE HOLLYWOOD", and the 'MCS' trademark on yours was continued in use after Charles Martinez bought the firm. Sunset Trails bought the designs and dies after Martinez died in 1960 and, I believe, still produce some McCabe designs, stamped with both their mark and the 'MCS' McCabe mark - they might have some information for you if you contact them.
