Hello,
I have this old golden ring with black diamond. It have two marks. One is fox facing left with numbers or letters and other one is "J^K".
I found that fox mark is from Austria.
Can you help me with determining maker and age of this ring ?
Thank you very much

Re: Austro-hungarian black diamond ring
Hello Maxa!
I cannot help now to identify the maker, but the age and the place maybe I can.
This fox hallmarks with the numbers and letter was used in Austria-Hungary from 1872. After 1918 in Austria and the other countries which came into being, used their own new halmarks, Hungary used the fox till 1937. So if the letter in the fox hallmark is a P, it's from Hungary, sometimes between 1872-1937.
If you see another letter, then is from someone else in the ex Austria-Hungary. The letters and number in the left shows us the assay office.
For example A was in Wien, A1 was in Wiener Neustadt, A2 is Sankt Pölten, B was Linz, C was Prague etc.
Unfortunatly I cannot see in your photos the clear letters and numbers, but maybe you see, and you can take a picture and show us.
Then we can identify the assay office, and see, where we have to look for the maker.
Best regards!

Hello Krisztián,
Thank you very much. I looked better with magnifier and I can tell you that the fox is facing a letter "A" and other symbol is number "4".
What do you think who could be maker ? Could it be Klinkosch ?
Thank you very much on your time

Hello!
As I wrote before, I cannot help to identify the maker, because I don't have any source for this.
If I understand well, You have this hallmark:
The number 4 on the right side of the mark shows us the fineness. It's 14k. (580‰ exactly)
The letter A shows assay office: Wien. If next to the letter you have any number, then it's another assay office's mark.
Best regards!
