hi all,
this is my first posting so please bear with me.
the links below are photos of a candle snuffer which i believe is silver plate on possibly steel.

http://www.ledworld.ismysite.co.uk/imag ... uffer2.JPG" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

i have searched through the world silver plate trademarks but cannot find these markings.
could someone point me in the right direction?
thanks

Hi George,

Welcome to the Forum.

I've seen that mark before but to my knowledge is has not been attributed to a particular maker.

Hopefully someone may have some up date information, but in the meantime some names to throw into the hat could be Richard Ottley, Robert Owen & Son, Robert Oxley, all of Sheffield or maybe Onion & Son of Birmingham.

Regards Trev.

Hello.

My references show that as a close plate mark from around 1850.
None of my references identifies the manufacturer.
