I'm trying to translate the markings on a vessel that I have images are attached.

I'm not sure if they're Japanese Jungin? Meiji period ? Or a combination of makers marks. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I was able to talk to a Chinese jeweler and she informed me that yes its Chinese, but it does NOT state "Made in China".

It is a phrase for best wishes and luck and likely an antique from Beijing, China area. She wasn't sure of the exact age.

Any knowledgeable help with a specific translation of the script would be appreciated.

Auroraes,

Pygoldfish did not state that the mark translated to 'Made in China', only that the piece was made in China.

Trev.

Thank you for the clarification. I understood quite differently.

Any information has been helpful and appreciated.

I believe that I may have to seek information beyond the forum to attain the translation for which I'm searching.

Thanks again.

Thank you for the input on my Chinese vessel. It did in fact test positive for pure silver. I wasn't able to get a specific translation, but at least I know that it is in fact 925 silver or greater.

Yes, it's a Chinese silver, 1910~1946. The mark on the 2nd image looks "常州老鳳祥鼎記", "常州" (Changzhou) is a city in the south of Zhejiang province (East China), "老鳳祥" is the brand name, "鼎記" is the name of the store.
