I suspect these are not even silver, but brass. I usually collect Scandinavian enamels, and figured I'd check out some Russian pieces for comparison. These were sold to me online, the pictures looked decent, and they were described as having "84" marks (only two of them do, the others are not marked at all). I'm thinking I'm going to have to return them, but wanted to get your expert opinions. They don't have the quality I would have expected; have you seen any like this? As far as I can tell, they might as well have been produced for Pier 1 by a low-end Indian manufacturer.

Yes, fakes and poor ones too. A good rule to remember regarding Russian cloisonnée enamled silver is that the cell walls are always made of twisted wires and never of plain "strips" like these are made. The marks are just horrible. Don't hesitate, call of the deal asap.
