Indian colonial salt and pepper pots?

I'd be very grateful for some help identifying the maker's mark on the salt and pepper pots below. Stylistically they would seem to be Indian colonial but I can find no mention of the maker. Does anyone have any ideas?
Much appreciated as always

Hi Emma,
I'm only offering this as a possibility, but the partners in Middleton & Co. between 1822 and 1834 were Robert Brutus Middleton and Thomas Allardice.
Robert Brutus Middleton, who was earlier an assistant with Hamilton & Co., would seem a candidate for further research.

Thanks Trev, that's really interesting, I think you're on to something. It would definitely make sense if it was him.

Hi Emma,
I agree with Trev. This is most likely the earliest mark of Middleton & Co. The later M&Co marks are much more common.
