Arms on French chamber stick Henry Allain

Post by zilverik »

This chamber stick has all the marks it should have. Maker's mark: a crowned fleur-de-lis, two grains, HA, an orb = Paris maker Henry Allain. Born 1699(?), master 1745. Warden's mark 1744-1750, warden Antoine Leschaudel. Date letter "I" = 1749. Decharge on the holder. Weight 150 gr. Height 4,5 cm. Length (overall) 14,5 cm. "Diameter "9,1 cm.
In " Three centuries of French domestic silver", Dennis, Metropolitan museum of art, part II, there is a picture of a sponge box made by Henry Allain with the arms of a known family, as far as I can see different from the crest on this chamber stick. Anyone knows?

Regards,

Zilverik
