Hi
My son was given this spoon on his birth from his great-grandfather. I believe it was his (great-grandfather's) great or great-great-aunt's. I have tried looking at all the different hallmark websites for date and maker's mark confirmation but I can't work it out. I would greatly appreciate it if anyone could help me.
Many thanks!!
Hallmark help for inherited spoon
Re: Hallmark help for inherited spoon
Hi,
The spoon was hallmarked in London in 1839, although there is some wear to the makers mark, I believe it to be C.B for Charles Boyton who was a well known spoon maker who was active at this time.
