identification help required

Post by blueheron »

I am not sure that this is even Irish so excuse me if I am off. A DE in a trefoil cartouche, both spoons have the same double crown (harp?) mark and a date mark M. I am new to the forum and having problems posting pics so please bear with me.

thank you.

These are not Irish but where they are from I do not know. Hopefully someone else will.

Twice the town mark of Utrecht (= town mark Utrecht+province mark of Utrecht) to indicate first standard of silver or 934/000 fineness.
For Utrecht see:

Maker's mark DE in a trefoil for: Dirk Egeling, registered in the city of Utrecht 1756-1799(died), born in the city of Zutphen in 1724.
Year letter M for 1795 (based upon the shape crown town mark)
