House of Bourbon Cypher on Emile Puiforcat Servers

Post by neurorocker »

Hi there,

I found these servers-- a fish slice and some other server. These are the heaviest I've ever held at 310 grams on the pair. The style is very plain. Marked with the Minerva and the Emile Puiforcat EP mark. The real standout is the cypher engraved on the handles. It bears strong similarity to a cypher that I believe may be associated with the House of Bourbon. I wonder if anyone knows it?

Thanks!

N

Hi,
Your monogram is AL repeated as mirror image; it was upside down - nothing to do with Bourbons.

I concur with AG2012 that this is not a Bourbon monogram.
The server on the left is called une pelle à tarte, used for serving pastries or tarts.
The pattern is called Uniplat, or sometimes Vieux Paris.
Regards.
