Hello everyone
Russian silver is always a difficult topic, but when it comes from the 18th century, the examples discussed in this forum are very few.
There is a box for sale that bears these marks.
As far as I know, Russian regulations also required the silversmith's mark and the assayer's mark, which I don't see here.
Or perhaps this was not yet required in the 18th century?
Can anyone shed some light on this topic?
Thanks for attention
Amena
P.S. for the record I have no intention of buying it, whether it is genuine or not.

Hi!
These are fake punches. And, most likely, not very old. I hope I didn't upset you too much?

First of all, thanks Dad for the confirmation.
I have no reason to be upset: I posted this question precisely because the marks seemed suspicious to me, but I wasn't sure.
Thus we find ourselves faced with yet another fake proposed by a well-known antiques dealer on a well-known internet platform.
It has been said several times that this site does not deal with fakes.
Wouldn't it be appropriate to deal with it instead?
For my part, I see that a high percentage of Italian silver offered for sale on the Internet is actually fake, particularly the Venetian and Neapolitan ones.
Wouldn't it be appropriate to do something to stem this trend?
