Hello, this is actually a maker's mark: Martin Mayer from Mainz/Mayence, Germany. Some info on the company has already been posted on this forum. The 26 is most likely an internal pattern number, "Depose" can be found quite often on Mayer's objects, even on the ones not meant for export, many German silver makers and jewellers using French technical terms (at least back then and at least before 1914). Regards, Bahner

Beautiful Jugendstil.
French rectangular weevil mark for imported silver items from treaty countries, used 1893-1984, minimum silver standard of 800/1000.
Applied twice to indicate the object consists of two parts.
Fineness .800 is not sterling .925.
Regards
