Hello folks,

Can someone confirm to me whether this is the correct master and the correct inspector?

It should

Inspector A.S. --(Svechin. A. - 1862 -1875..)

and

Dmitriev. M. minted and master blacksmith 1854-1877

be.

Unfortunately, the city hallmark cannot be clearly seen, but it should be Moscow. Is the piece authentic?

Greetings
Marcel

Hi.

The item (silver icon lamp) is authentic. "St. George" like this:

There is evidence from repairs and soldering.
Only, I would say, the AS assay inspector is Alexander Smirnov.

OK, its genuine according to Dad. St. George's shield/frame is a bit odd for the period, but? Anyway, the maker МД would likely be Makar Danilov in Moscow ? Assayer AC is either Aggei Svechin or Aleksandr Smirnoff difficult to say which one. Actually it is of less importance in this case.

Please note!
Religious objects especially Judaicas are often fakes.....toooo often!

Thank you both!

In a roundabout way I was able to show the piece the lamp to a priest from the former Yugoslavia. Thank you for your effort...
