German Tea Set Hallmark - EICHERT

Post by honu1920 »

I inherited a tea set from my great-grandmother, who was in Germany before 1920. After some research I have discovered that it is German Silver - based on the cresent/crown/800 but unable to get too much more from the hallmarks.

The hallmark is:

EICHERT

<german silver marking> crescent/crown/800/and what looks like a eagle/phoenix

No. 11576 (which is on all the pieces, so I assume this is the style of the set?)

pictures include the hallmark - one of the tea pots - enlarged pic of the eagle/phoenix at the end of the hallmark
and then two enlarged hallmark pics

Yes, eagle, the mark of Bruckmann, Heilbronn busy 1805-1973. Eichert was the selling jeweller, if I remember well in Berlin.
