Eisenberg
Gilt Sterling Brooch c.1940s

Eisenberg (1914 - Present) was founded in Chicago in 1914 by Jonas Eisenberg. Originally a dresswear house, the jewelry line was begun around 1930 to complement the clothing lines. Beautifully designed and well crafted, the jewelry sales soon outpaced the dresswear, which was fazed out by 1958. Eisenberg's settings are finely finished and as would be expected in costume of this quality, the prime supplier of stones was Swarovski. The firm's most beautiful output spanned the years 1935 to 1960, an elegant quarter century of production, especially their pavé sterling pieces of the war years.
