Hi,
The language is Danish, so this is most likely a Danish piece. Haandarbejde = hand work, and Kelo must be the name of the makers/ firm.
Both Denmark and Norway stamp 830S (830/1000 silver)

Hi, The inscription could also be Norwegian. We would write it in excactly that way. If we suppose this item is close to 100 years old, wouldn't a Dane write paa and not på ? There was a Norwegian silversmith in Bergen, Hartvig Jentoft Jeppesen who stamped with the initials HJ, very similiar to the...

Well, now you know a lot about your spoon: It was made by Hans Hohles Sølvvarefabrikk (Hans Hohle's Silverware Factory) between 1927-1936, and afterwards stamped by the local silversmith Aslak Sørensen Hodne.
It was not uncommon for a local silversmith to stamp items made elsewhere.

Hello, Both Denmark and Norway stamp their silver with 830S which means that it contains 830/1000 pure silver. Sterling is 925/1000. The 3 crowns is a Swedish control mark, so this item has probably been imported to Sweden once. It looks as if the Swedish mark is stamped over another mark, maybe the...

I can't say for sure if they were bought together or not, since I haven't bought the item from a store. However, there is some sort of screw mechanism both on the holder and on the dish. Hope you can see it in the pictures. http://usera.imagecave.com/many45/Silver/IMG_56371.JPG http://usera.imagecav...

Thank you for the information about the maker of this item:-) There is no doubt it was meant to double as a candle holder. A candle fits perfectly into the holder, and if you look closer at the middle picture, you will notice that the top of the holder has excactly the same pattern as the base. I do...
