Re: Information needed on Nilsson mark.

Thanks for sharing your USPTO search method, silverly. I'm in the "truly amazed" stage but will wrap my mind around your write and play with it for awhile to see if any lights of discovery go on, or even flicker a bit (smile). I'm so pleased with this forum. It has produced wonderful resul...

Re: Information needed on Nilsson mark.

Great sleuthing, silverly! This puts the mystery to rest. Thank you very much. If you don't mind, will you please tell me how you got the USPPTO to produce the desired information? I tried entering the name Nilsson as both inventor and assignee, selected from the drop-down menu of choices, but got o...

Re: Information needed on Nilsson mark.

Thanks so much Cheryl. After posting the first message, I devoted time to examining the 3-crown marks from Sweden. One admirable thing is that so much identifying information is contained in such a relatively small space. Clearly this mark is atypical. Your comment regarding the use of this 3-crown ...

Re: Information needed on Nilsson mark.

Hello to all, and hope your holiday season was great! I just want to bump this up because I'm still trying to identify this mark. Any help, even vague clues to follow, would be much appreciated, before I abandon my efforts. Since I posted the topic, I've looked at all of the work by Wiwen Nilsson th...

Information needed on Nilsson mark.

This piece is marked on back of pendant and on inside of bail. Back of pendant is marked with the 3 crowns used by Swedish silversmiths, the name NILSSON in block, and 925. The inner bail is marked "NILSSON" "925" & "14K" on three lines. Thick wire overlaying on the...

I just got home to find your message. The photo loaded perfectly this time. Thank you. The mark does look very much like the one on this brooch. Slight differences in the letter type but format of the I & G with the dot separating the two is the same which indicates a strong possibility to me. I...

Thank you very much, Tom, for this interesting information. Do you think there's any chance that this piece thus signed, may actually be the work of Geddy? No. I take that back. If so, I think the pin stem and catch would appear much older, right? I never expected such a fast reply with this great i...

Does anyone know Sterling I G mark on old "face" b

I'm hoping someone will be able to identify the maker of this brooch and possible age. I don't know if it was made in the U.S. or is European in origin. I lean toward the latter just by its appearance but actually have no idea. Here are pictures of the front and "Sterling I.G" mark on back...

I'm seeking info re "QUINTIN V" on Taxco jewelry.

I have a pendant and ring with beautiful semi-precious stone inlays. Both are marked QUINTIN V. In addition, they are marked Mexico Taxco 925 and bear the eagle mark with a 3. I would like to learn more about QUINTIN V and I'm hoping someone recognizes the mark and can share information with me. Th...

Desperate for info re mark on gorgeous Norway enameled pin.

Hi and thank you in advance for any help offered. Sorry the 1st photo also contains part of a bracelet but the item in question is the pin. I believe it's from Norway and I'm hoping to find the maker's name behind the interesting mark. Looks like an elongated figure 8 on its side, with the point of ...

Please help identify maker of unusual Norway filigree pin.

I was surprised to see Norway - the 3rd word - on back of this lovely filigree pin. It also has initials H.O. and the word Sterling. Can anyone identify the maker, and perhaps give a time frame of when it may have been made? It has an interesting old tube hinge and is very sturdy. Thanks for all hel...

Thank you Mike, for replying. Your answer helps a lot. Do you have any information regarding what the first and the last symbols mean, or an idea of how old this belt might be, and whether it in fact is British? Thank you

Please interpret mark on old British? linked Panel Belt.

I would like to know if someone can help me by interpreting the marks that appear on this linked panel belt. The mark on the left looks like a 3-tiered crown. The one at the far right looks like a star, or some other shape, within the borders of a shield. The 3rd - 5th marks have a part of the botto...

Tom, this is the first time I've posted a question to the forum and I'm thrilled over your reply. Is this an early David-Andersen mark?

I think this is an early David-Andersen bracelet but I have never seen this mark before. There are two circles. The one on the left contains a balanced scale with the letters D A above it. The circle on the right shows 830 with a discernable letter S beneath it. http://www.boomspeed.com/yen2/DA8301...
