6 April 1725 Andrew Raven of the Parrish of Westham in Stratford, Essex will proved at London. Ambrose Stevenson silversmith (Grimwade p.670) and Daniel Cowalet (Cowald? Grimwade p.475) "a German a silversmith" both of London were two of Andrew's executors.

Gorham's mark has had quite a history. It was good enough to end up in a court case. In my opinion it was not intended to totally imitate a Birmingham, England hallmark, but just needed to resemble the mark in order to cash in on the known quality of British silver. The below mark of Ann Orr’s is from someone who I believe is a reliable source and whose name and etc I will pass on when I have permission to do so. All the other marks in this post are not Ann’s.
