18th century Amsterdam mother with 3 children handle
This has been on my list of wants for quite some time. It is in pretty good shape and the original blade or fork piece has been removed and replaced with a later Georgian silver knife blade. I can make out the Amsterdam city mark but I think a 1726 'Q' date letter is next to it but the mark is rubbe...

Neisse / Nysa 17th century apostle spoon
does anybody have any old Silesian or Polish silver reference guides? I have a book on Polish town marks which dates this particular Fleur de lis mark to the 17th century but I don't have a maker's reference. The mark looks like a man's head possibly wearing a helmet. Any help would be appreciated h...

The only other options I could find would be Hendrik Kamerlingh 1st or Hendrik Kramer. I cannot find examples of their marks either

Re: Amsterdam Hoof Spoon
Thanks Peter, early 18th century seems right for the style to me and the build. I am especially grateful for the example of the Abraham Knobbart mark so I can rule him out.

Amsterdam Hoof Spoon
I just acquired this gilt Dutch hoof spoon. The maker mark appears to be a K or part of a K. I think the maker may be Abraham Knobbart but I cannot find any examples of his mark. I also have no clue whose crest of 3 crossed swords this belongs to. https://i.postimg.cc/wyZKWB77/IMG-6011.jpg https://i...

18th century French? silver knife
I bought this knife because who doesn't love a good mystery? The blade is English by Makepeace & ?arker. The pummel of the knife is marked with 3 marks. One of them is a crowned L. The other marks look like ?AMON ???HOL and ?ABARRO. the knife is 9" long and the handle is definitely filled. ...

17th century Swiss Spoon, Herisau?
I was very fortunate to pick up this old Swiss spoon which I believe comes from the city of Herisau but I am not at all certain of this. The style of the spoon was very popular in the nearby city of St. Gallen. https://i.postimg.cc/5yX46K8q/IMG-0410.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/76YYyZ6R/IMG-0411.jpg htt...

Thanks, Peter, hopefully, one day the silver of the region will get more attention, and the silversmiths of the region are finally identified.

17th century Enkhuizen spoon?
I just picked up this old spoon on a whim, didn't have great pictures in the listing. I believe it is 1662/3 or 1665/6 Enkhuizen but I don't know of any resources for this town that was once prolific maker of spoons. https://i.postimg.cc/Y0xfHC0c/IMG-0157.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/6QGrQ0qf/IMG-0158.j...

1735 Munich Beaker
I picked up this nice little German beaker. I think the marks are for Munich or possibly Hereford. The engraving is dated 1735 and is christening or baby cup to Theodorus Augustus Burglen from his grandfather. I do not know if its from Munich for sure and I don't know who the maker is https://i.post...

18th century Frisian spoon
I have another mystery spoon with this other Frisian spoon. I assumed it was early 18th century but my book on Frisian silver has the mark as being from Bolsward silversmith Frans Arians Riemersma who worked between 1620 to 1674? This seems way too early for this style of spoon. https://i.postimg.cc...

17th or 18th Century Rotterdam spoon?
I just recently picked up a couple of Dutch spoons and I believe this one is from Rotterdam but I do not have any books about Rotterdam silver. I believe it dates from either 1676 or 1700. At first, I thought the piece was from Deventer but the bird mark is the maker's mark. If anyone can shed some ...
