Re: Antonio Pineda bracelet design help please.

Thanks for the welcome back...its been a few years hence old photo host that seems to have changed. I hope this one is okay Trev. Couldn't manage to edit original post, not sure if that is possible here. The mark is shown (a little better) for reference, I'm already certain of it's identity. It is a...

Re: Antonio Pineda bracelet design help please.

Does anyone have any information about this design? It has the Antonio Taxco mark and 14k and has a fire opal in each panel. I wonder if mine has been altered as the links have been opened in one section. Somehow it doesn't seem to flow as most Pineda pieces do, so I wonder if a central piece has be...

Re: European Brooch Hallmark Identification

Hi Carol,
Its a bit difficult to tell from the picture but looks like the Chester hallmark for 1909. This is a a typical English 'sweetheart' brooch of the period. The maker's mark is unknown to me (and I can't find it).

I'd be thinking along the lines of card or possibly cigarette dispenser. It must have a liner or internal floor that is missing.
I'd be happy with the Sampson and Mordan attribution and date too - missing the Chester mark but otherwise spot on for 1911.

It seems to be the early mark for Grann and Laglye as I think Bobby was pointing out. In my opinion,(as i collect them) one of the very best Danish silversmiths.

Hi Tom,
I see what you mean, not so common! I can't find any other examples of 590 online. Do you know of anywhere I could look to find this pattern? Or indeed suggest any particularly extensive online sources of Gorham patterns.
Thank you, David

Thanks for the speedy reply Tom. It sounds as if this may be a fairly common and certainly lesser quality piece than most.
Its only the second piece of Gorham Ive found in England (at auction) but the last piece seemed much better quality in finish when compared with this. Thanks again

Hi Dean ,
Its a watch fob /medal. You'll see plenty of watch fobs if you Google or look on eBay.
Probably early C20th, hard to say without the hall mark.

So far i'm only sure its by or retailed by Anton Michelsen (AM and crown mark). The EM monogram is so close to that of Erik Magnussen, but n...

Hmmm! Just to be sure I checked up on the only published image of the mark i have for Meyle and Mayer ( silver jewellery designs by N.S Schiffer), it is a bit different. Having no legs and a less curled tail. I still think its this maker but am less certain until i find an alternative version of the...

Hi Franny,
A lovely brooch.
It's a jugendstil piece from Germany certainly by MEYLE & MAYER as already mentioned. It's exactly the area I collect and I'm highly envious!
