Update/Bump: Can anyone hazard a guess as to whether this is silverplated? A friend who looked at the pieces recently said he saw the red of copper in them, and is convinced they are silver on copper. Hi, Urban. Both of the marks are noted in Hougart's Little Book of Mexican Silver Trade and Hallmarks (2006). There's not much more on the first one than what you can see in the mark. The name and location, that is.: A.S. González, who worked in Monterrey, Nuevo León. Looks to be .925 silver. The ...
