I am pretty sure the mark is still in use today, perhaps someone from Birmingham can help out.

Re: Russia Silver without Assayer's Mark

How about his son Albert Holmström, they use the same mark.

R P in hexagon, can't find who this mark belongs to.

Hi, been searching online for the pass hour and the only information just refer the maker as R P. The ingot was assayed in 2000 so it's recent any information would be greatly appreciate.

Re: Russia Silver without Assayer's Mark

Ah, thanks for pointing it out, didn't know how I missed that part. Upon further research this may be mark of HOLMSTROM, August Wilhelm a senior member of Fabergé's workshop.

Re: Russia Silver no Assayer's Mark

I did and if I am not mistaken the assayer's mark will have the initials of the assay's master with the year below, which is missing in this case.

Re: Russia Silver without Assayer's Mark

And I didn't think it is an assayer's mark but a marker's mark stamp twice, as the year is missing from the mark.

Re: Russia Silver no Assayer's Mark

Thanks for the reply, I was abit skeptical as I know there are alot of fakes on the market plus from what I gather they were really strict with the hallmarking and must consist of a Maker's, Assayer's, Silver Standard and a Town Mark.

Any idea of the age and origin of the item? Done some research but find nothing so far.

Russia Silver no Assayer's Mark

Recently acquired a bowl and has the combine city & standard mark and the maker's mark (HA) but without Assayer's mark. Just wondering if the bowl genuine or fake?

Do anyone recognize the following marks on earrings

Do anyone recognize the following marks on a pair of earrings, they looks to be sterling silver but I am not 100% sure. The marking is a 5 point star linking to another character which I do not recognize. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
