Re: Earrings - "Silver by tono"?

Okay, I feel silly, since the first result for "Silver by tono" gives me the name Antonio Pineda. The mark in question looks like one of the earlier ones, from 1945-1948. Does anyone know what the lower hallmark - the eagle with "17" (that's what it looks like to me, at least) might mean?

Earrings - "Silver by tono"?

I buy bags/lots of mixed jewelry for crafts, and these were in my latest thrift store find - I know a little about silverplate marks, but jewelry marks are like hieroglyphics to me (unless it's something like Trifari or Coro). Any information about this mark would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Forbes Silver Co labeled 925?

I guess my initial post got deleted... what I am really curious about here is that the marking says "quadruple" but there is also a 925 stamp. I suppose it could be the model number for this set, but that would seem awfully misleading to put on silverplate... any ideas? Anything I could do to test ...
