8" Spoon with Two Marks
Hi. I recently found some silver pieces packed away and I was able to figure out all of them except this spoon. The spoon doesn't have any exceptional pattern or design to it, only these markings on the back near the top of the handle, and I don't recognize either of them. I don't even know what the...

Dutch Strainer Spoon? Unknown Maker.
Hi. I have something that has stumped me for a while. It is an 8" Spoon marked Holland on the front of the bowl. There is also the letter B (date for 1836 or 1911?) and a couple different animals (one near the house the other near the letter) the latter of which I believe is a Lion rampant. I d...

Re: Joseph Willmore Nutmeg Box
Hi Phil. Here are a couple of closer shots on the marks. Best I could do unfortunately with the camera I have. http://i1374.photobucket.com/albums/ag440/SimpleElegantSterling/Flatware/IMG_5224-002_zps53caf20c.jpg http://i1374.photobucket.com/albums/ag440/SimpleElegantSterling/Flatware/IMG_5221-002_z...

Joseph Willmore Nutmeg Box
Hello. I seem to have found a Nutmeg Box done by Joseph Willmore from the early 1800s under George III. I cannot lock down an exact year for it though and above the first set of hallmarks is what appears to be a string of numbers that do make any sense to me. I'm wondering if anyone could offer info...

Re: 18k / 750 Gold Bracelet with Unknown Mark
Unfortunately you are correct. I found a resource online that said the same thing and a local jeweler confirmed it was a fake. I did learn the interesting background on these fake pieces though so at least that's something.
Thank you for the reply.

18k / 750 Gold Bracelet with Unknown Mark
Hello. I recently came across an old bracelet that my family has had for some years, but no one really paid any attention to. It is marked as 18k above 0750, which I know indicates a 75% gold purity. However I cannot figure out the 100 mark that is to the left of the 18k mark nor the symbol to the r...

I*V Makers Mark? Large Spoon.
Hi. I have recently found a nearly 10" spoon with a set of hallmarks that appear to me to be British in origin, but I don't recongize the makers intials or the city mark. Any help would be greatly appreciated. http://i1374.photobucket.com/albums/ag440/SimpleElegantSterling/Flatware/5bceef9c-f8c...

Re: Sterling Spoon - Mythological Design - Sterling Mark Onl
Thank you for the information. I thought it was of an Egyptian style, but I had been unable to locate an exact match and though I noticed some Whiting pieces that seemed the closest they were not as sparsely marked as this one.

Sterling Spoon - Mythological Design - Sterling Mark Only
Hello. I've had a few previous questions answered by people on this forum and I'm hoping someone can help me out again. I have a Spoon with a Shell Bowl and very interesting pattern that includes a winged creature / figure, but no marks except the word sterling. http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o2...

C. Zimmermann Ladle? Cross above Crown?
Hello there. I have a large ladle that I cannot seem to track down a maker on despite having a name marked on the piece. I found some Zimmermann silver hallmarks, but nothing that seems to related to a C. Zimmermann. There are also three other hallmarks - 18, (then the name), X and finally a Cross a...

Salt & Pepper Shakers with VBS intials & Lion hallmarks
Hello there. I have a salt and pepper shaker pair that I have recently ended up with and I can not track down any information on the maker. The marks on it on fairly clean, but they do not appear to match anything that I have looked into. I'm fairly certain its a set of British markings, just not on...

800 Silver marked 300 FI
I'm hoping someone can tell me the company and age of a Money Clip marked as 800 silver and a five-point Star, the numbers 310 and initials FI. I believe it's Italian based on the initials and imagery on the front if that helps at all. http://www.925-1000.com/td/f/Italian/310-FI-mark-image.jpg Thank...

Sterling Cufflink & Tiebar Set - Triangle Mark
Hello everyone. I found this website a while back and have been able to use its great resources to finally figure out some pieces of silver I had purchased, but could never identify before. Unfortunately, searching through the makers list hasn't turned up anything on this set of Sterling Jewelry. Th...
