Unknown hallmark of silver 800
I ask experts to help. I bought this creamer. Hallmarks - 800 in a rectangle (not clearly German), some more nearby, plus a model number. What country is this, who is the manufacturer? I would be grateful for any help. https://i.ibb.co/1LQ6kkK/20200310-112856.jpg https://i.ibb.co/fHNgmK2/20200310-11...

Victoria in a rectangular frame
Dear experts! I ask for help. Got a kettle. Perhaps with traces of silvering - in places it is shiny, but copper is visible on a larger surface. The mark at the bottom is only one - Victoria in a rectangular frame. Can someone tell me something about this item? I will be very grateful! https://i.ibb...

Re: Need help - Germany, WW1
Hello, believe the maker is Paul Ditges (do not have access to my books right now). You are absolutely right about the dedication. It reads: Marine-Oberstabsarzt der Reserve / Doktor Otto / seinem lieben Marine-Oberassistenzarzt der Reserve / Doktor Wallé / zur freundlichen Erinnerung / Brügge 1915...

Need help - Germany, WW1
I ask for help. I understand that this is Germany, but I can not determine the manufacturer. And I can not decipher this large unusual engraving. I suppose that mentioned two naval doctors who were then in Bruges. https://i.ibb.co/m9CMDbs/BFF97310-1949-454-A-8641-88-F0-F88665-C2.jpg https://i.ibb.co...

Tongs - question - Norway?
There was a question on the tongs. Materials - silver 830 and stainless steel. Size is large, about 22 cm. Hallmarks - 830s and a round icon with a bird that looks to the left. A similar hallmarks was used by Brodrene Mylius, Norway, but there the bird is looking to the right. I ask the experts for ...

Re: Unusual set of hallmarks
So, Sterling after 1986. Now can we explain the (right facing 1963-) "Re-marking on silver" head stamp useage? Is it used to re-verify quality on older era silver with prior marks? I have the same question. It is interesting that Gdansk hallmark looks more newer that "re-marking"...

Unusual set of hallmarks
I bought a bracelet with amber. It has a very unusual set of hallmarks. First, rectangular - only digits 925. Second, also rectangular - letter G, 925, the head (looks to the right). Third: head in the circle. Fourth - apparently, the brand of the firm - something like a stylized letter ii. I've nev...

Spoon of Herzog von Mecklenburg?
This is a German coffee spoon from 1874-1886. On the upper side - the coat of arms of the Dukes of At the bottom - the inscription: Johann Albrecht Herzog von Mecklenburg. Who knows: where can be this spoon? Palace cutlery? I know that in the Russian guard was something similar: the officers when en...

Re: Swedish hallmark - question!
dds1969 The mark you refer to is the family arms of the Swedish Wasa family. It shows a sheaf. GAB is not a "maker" in person, it is Guldsmedsaktiebolaget, a company, and the Wasa sheaf is their trade mark/logo often but not always seen punched on their products. https://en.wikipedia.org/...

Swedish hallmark - question!
The Swedish salt shaker in 1945. Silver, gilding. The first five hallmarks are clear, but what is the last hallmark? What does it mean? I will be grateful for the help. http://www.925-1000.com/td/f/Sweden/GAB-1.jpg I ask for advice: what is this object, what is its purpose. Silver, gilding, Sweden, ...

Seven teaspoons - Arnhem? What period?
A question for connoisseurs. Seven identical teaspoons. On each - only two hallmarks. The double-headed eagle in the circle and the letter R in the circle. Also on all seven spoons there is an engraving - 1824. It seems to be Holland, Arnhem. But should not there be more than two stigmas? And what y...
