Dognose Trev or Any British date mark experts that could help me with this flat top shield shape?
Hello! I purchased a British aquamarine ring to wear as a memory of my grandparents - both of their birthstones were aquas, as was her engagement ring. : ) Unfortunately the assay mark was lost in a sizing who knows when but I thought perhaps I could still identify the date letter to know when it wa...

Unknown foreign hallmark on gold ring - Animal head, 2 ears facing left?
Hi there and thank you in advance for your time! Looking for help identifying a foreign hallmark on the outside of a gold ring that I believe dates to the 1800s. The mark looks like an animal head facing left with two ears - like a donkey or a bull? There is an additional hallmark that looks like a ...

Re: Vintage gold ring hallmark
Hello!
I was wondering if it is known when this hallmark started being used? I saw online the lapwing was used until 1993, but did they start using it in 1918 when Czechoslovakia became independent or possibly earlier?
Thank you for any information!

14k Gold Wolf or Boar Hallmark? - unknown European mark in World Hallmarks Book
Hi there! I am looking for help identifying a foreign hallmark on a gold ring. It is a European piece, and it is hallmarked on the outside of the shank, like they do in France. It looks like a right facing wolf, or possibly a boar. I believe it is 14k gold. I am trying to identify the country that u...

Unknown dragon? hallmark
Hello all! I am having the darnedest time sifting through the cobwebs in my mind to recall this hallmark. It looks so familiar to me but I can't find a match. Can anyone help? It is on the back of an over cup tea strainer. Thanks! https://www.925-1000.com/pics/Ximg.jpg https://www.925-1000.com/pics/...

Re: Tiffany Moore Sterling "Old Silver" hallmark?
Thank you all for your feedback. If anyone has any ideas on how I might research this vice silver idea, or any other thoughts or speculation on the Old Silver, I will continue watching. And THANKS! One last question if you don't mind. The belly of the creamer has fingerprint sized impressions and in...

Tiffany Moore Sterling "Old Silver" hallmark?
Hi there! I bought this old Tiffany creamer pitcher for my husband because he liked the face on it. I'd like to make a record of what I can find out about it as I like to do with all the items we collect. The stories behind them is the best part! : ) My first question is about the "Old Silver&q...

Unknown CW mark on unknown silver content case
Hi there, I am hoping someone can help me with any information about this case I had bought. I actually bought it to carry my vitamins in my purse - isn't that an ironic repurpose of a cigarette case? : ) Anyway the Wisteria decor I know is often Japanese, but I don't see any Japanese hallmarks. I o...

Re: Shiebler Fakes?
Thanks everybody... okay wow. I knew that it was a long and expensive process but I had no idea it entailed all that. So do you think I am safe to assume that the pieces I see with the missing "I" in Sterling are still actually Shiebler pieces then? I had read on a Tiffany fakes site that ...

Shiebler Fakes?
Hi there! I have been gradually growing my Shiebler flatware collection over the last few years and have come across some pieces of Flora where the Sterling stamp reads "Sterlng" (the letter I seems to be missing on the strike.) On some of them, the S inside the wings is even backwards, so...

Durgin marks by date?
I had a question about the Durgin marks found on this site: http://www.925-1000.com/americansilver_D2.html Does anyone know the dates of the various types? I know the bird in the wreath is late 1800s, and the script D I read an estimate from 1888 to the 1930s, but the one with the clover or flower s...

Re: HE hallmark for same citrus spoon as a Gorham?
Thank you so much Traintime! Do you have any ideas why an identical spoon would have the HE hallmark and Gorhams as well? As I mentioned mine does not, but wondered what the relationship was and whose design it is.
Thanks so much for your time!
