Hi aguest and thank you for taking the time to research the symbol. I'm intrigued at the potential of it being a Zuni piece, due to the size of the stones. I'll report back with any additional info I run across. Thanks again!
Sincerely,
Scott

Re: Any Information on "T.E. Avery"?
Hi Silverly and thank you for your input. There are a couple photos embedded that show the engravings on the reverse. It reads "T.E. Avery - (Picto Hallmark Signature) - S.S. - Center Stone 1060c". I assume the S.S. is for sterling silver, and Center Stone 1060c is indicating the large tur...

Re: Any Information on "T.E. Avery"?
Thank you so much for the input. I was thinking, if not a stylized TA, maybe it was a teepee in front of a horizon. However, I think your analysis is probably closer than mine. It sure does resemble a train track heading towards the horizon, within a circle.

Re: Any Information on "T.E. Avery"?
Thank you for the reply. I've considered that possibility, and it could very well be another letter besides a T, although that's what it looks like to me. Apparently James Avery was born Homer James Avery, which would rule him out, since it is signed with an "E" as the middle initial. Than...

Any Information on "T.E. Avery"?
The second I saw this belt buckle, I knew I had to have it. I've never seen anything quite like it before in regards to the sheer size of the turquoise. I've nicknamed it "The Championship Belt" due to its size and heft! The reverse is hand-signed and hand-engraved with the carat weight of...

Re: Mystery Navajo Picto Hallmark on Matching Bolo & Belt Buckle
Here are additional images of the matching belt buckle, which is pretty hefty. Its overall measurements are approximately 4.5" x 3.5", if that helps. Thanks again to all, for your time and courtesy. https://i.postimg.cc/Th3Pp9Vr/3651.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/8fck9ppy/3659.jpg https://i.pos...

Mystery Navajo Picto Hallmark on Matching Bolo & Belt Buckle
Hi all, here are two more Navajo pieces that have me stumped. A matching bolo and belt buckle are each set with large, important turquoise cabochons with red matrix. They're also each set with a bear claw, and feature lovely metalwork with Native American symbolism such as feathers and flowers. The ...

Re: Mystery Zuni Mark - "R.G.C." Engraved by Hand
Here is the piece I referenced with a similar signature. This one reads "E.G." between two stylized ampersands. The bolo depicts a horse, and has inlay work set with turquoise, jet, mother of pearl, yellow mother of pearl, and spiny oyster shell. Any additional information on this signatur...

Mystery Zuni Mark - "R.G.C." Engraved by Hand
Hi all, and thank you for allowing me to step into this community, that I've watched from the outside, for years and years. I've got several Native American pieces that have me stumped, and would appreciate any information anyone has on the markings. This one is a Zuni dancer bolo tie set with turqu...
