I was curious of 4 things -
Maker and period, if possible
What was it used for? Water or wine?
Did it used to have a lid?

Who Would Have Copied This Hunt & Roskell Pattern?
Hello, I have this spoon and fork, and I was able to use a pattern finder which led me to the firm Hunt & Roskell, but this was an English firm that would have used English marks. The only way my spoon is marked is "sterling" and no maker. Who would have been able to copy these pieces ...

Re: Flatware with mark "XXXX 100"
Thanks for your response Traintime. I was able to orient the piece towards sunlight and see it clearly. It appears to be a "W" transposed upon an "M". I suppose that this corresponds to the first two letters/ a variation version of the WMF, which manufactured a lot of flatware yo...

Flatware with mark "XXXX 100"
The 100 mark makes me think of Germany but I don't have any ideas who used "XXXX".

I wonder what the third mark could be. The first one looks kind of like a cat's face. The 2nd appears to be the Crossed Keys.

Re: Is this fake English silver?
I think Gmgs silverplate would give us a great gift if he tested his cutlery and could tell us for sure if they are solid silver or not. Knowing for certain what material the cutlery is made of would be of great help, to classify those marks, so naive. Regards Amena Hello amena. Kind regards. I too...

I found this silver in bulk box of flatware, no town mark and I can't find anything about this maker who made similar marks. Thanks.
