Brilliant, thanks for that, he does seem to fit the assay date and now I've found other images of his works I'm happy that it appears to be a genuine piece.

Small russian beaker
Hi, just purchased my first russian piece for my collection and I'm having some difficulty with the marks, they are rubbed in a few areas, the assay mark I believe is Nikolau Dubrovnik going by what looks like a 1839 date, but I'm at a dead end with the makers mark, so now I'm think it may be a fake...

Hi, apologies for the first photo, this is the best I could get it. Regards Mark. https://i.postimg.cc/9MS02Z06/Screenshot-20230114-160044-2.png Found these while researching my item, same design but described as a mustard and with unidentified Hanau marks. https://i.postimg.cc/fbhDh5W4/Screenshot-...

Re: Maker of tongs
Mmm, yes, it's quite possible, they did come with another pair that are definitely Exeter, thanks for the links, I never realised Exeter was such a minefield. Here's the marks of the second pair incase they are useful. Thanks for the help Mark https://i.postimg.cc/rmzhTngd/DSC-0404.jpg https://i.pos...

Maker of tongs
Hi, just trying to find out if my attribution is correct. I've settled on these being William Weston purely on the location of the dot between the two 'W's, they are definitely London the leopard head crowned is just visible and it look like a George 3rd duty. So my thinking is, in the absence of a ...

Re: Russian?
Hi Mark, That looks suspiciously like a French silver plate mark. Can you make out the initials? See: https://www.925-1000.com/a_platenumbers.html Trev. No, I don't have the item, I was looking into it first, thanks for the link, another lesson learned, It does seem to be french plate, Possibly Cha...

Russian?
Hi, apologies if I've put this in the wrong section, my knowledge of silver marks is still in its infancy, especially non UK. Anyway I put it here because of the '84', which seems to appear in russian marks. Thanks in advance. Mark https://i.postimg.cc/FFDbVb0Q/Screenshot-20221119-165754-2.png https...

Struggling with makers mark
Hi, got this small German pill box, I've looked through various resources but can't find anything close, looks like a horse figure if inverted but can't find any horse derived marks in a shield shape. Thanks in advance Mark. https://i.postimg.cc/3R0HGf2L/Screenshot-20221115-105131-2.png https://i.po...

Suspect hallmarks on shaker
Found this listed for sale but the hallmarks don't make sense to me, date letter doesn't seem to relate to the rest of the marks, but as I'm fairly new to this I'd thought I'd get opinions. https://i.postimg.cc/dVhkDQ7y/Screenshot-20221025-123418-2.png https://i.postimg.cc/nrVMxnbM/Screenshot-202210...

Hi, could someone possibly help with this?, I was sold it as french which seems fine but I'm having trouble with the makers mark, I've tried to get the image as clear as I can. https://i.postimg.cc/ZqZWmPx0/DSC-0337.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/rFX0gLRS/DSC-0330-2.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/9fnz93jw/DSC-0...

Re: Help with mark on silver bowl
Excellent, thanks for that.
So because of the '800' mark would you say that it's 1872-1934?
