Re: mark identification
J.H could be Jens Elias Hagenæss of Bergen, Norway Hagenæss apprenticed as a filigree worker at the workshop of Marius Hammer from 1892. He was later employed at the workshops of Marius Hammer (Bergen), Antonius Frisch (Kristiania, presentday Oslo), Clemet Berg (Kristiania) and at L. Gullhagen (Fage...

Some danish HAM
Thank you, a backdated enscription would explain it! Interesting, enforcement of the 1893 standardization of danish hallmarking must have been lax and/or delayed.

Early Danish HAM?
Hi, thank you both for the answer and the references, they are very interesting. I must admit that I am still a bit confused, about the timing. The date 16/5 - 91 is engraved on the back of the spoon. I suppose that makes it likely that it was made and stamped no later than 1891. If anything, the sp...

Ladle w/Croix de Lorraine
Ladle w/Croix de Lorraine This ladle does not belong to me, but the owner gave his permission to post the images here. There are two stamps; one is a double cross (Croix de Lorraine) between the letters A and C, the other is the letter C within a square with cut-off corners. It is acid tested as sil...

Some Danish HAM?
Spoon, 68.7% silver, bought at a thrift shop in the port village Skudeneshavn, Norway. Three stamps; the makers mark "H.A.M.", fineness "11LØDIGT" (68.7% silver), and the makers mark "H.A.M." again. There is also a monogram "MH" and the date "16/5 - 91&qu...

1 Konijn
1 Konijn This souvenir spoon from Antwerpen is stamped with a rabbit in a barrel shape, and the number 1 in a square. Is this the rabbit of Etablissements Konijn, Bruxelles? Is the spoon solid silver or silver plate? Any information you might have would be appreciated idarf https://i.imgur.com/QTMPd...

1898 danish master/workshop CLP/GLP unknown
This particular spoon was stamped in the year 1898. Unfortunatley, the master mark/workshop mark "CLP" or possibly "GLP" is unknown to me, and then of course also the years of operation. The rightmost mark is the danish national mark for solid silver - three towers - with the yea...

Re: Possible Scandinavian spoon, circa 1900, maker AH 13 1/4 mark
A. S. Hodne, Christiansand (presentday Kristiansand, Norway) marked "A.H." (no pellet) from 1877. This style (partly twisted stem, flowery decoration, light weight) was quite popular in Norway at that time. "13 1/4" was prevalent before 1892, from then 830 S would have be used. R...

Re: Appreciate help with mark on this small cup w/thick base
Hi John, The makers mark "CFC" was registered by Carlman Silversmith of Stockholm, Sweden between 1957 and 2003. However, your vase is marked "Z8", which is the swedish yearmark for 1950 (see dognose's link), and between 1945 and 1961 Carlmans officially registered mark was "...

The mark D.G.S. was registered by Danske Guldsmedes Sølvvarefabrik A/S in Slagelse, Denmark, from 1945 to 1977,
and later by Dansk Krone Sølv.

G.Hellstrøm and who else?
I picked this teaspoon from the silverplate box in a second hand store, partly because I suspect it might be solid silver, and partly because I became curious about the unknown mark. There are two marks: The first mark is likely the "G.H."-mark of the prominent and productive silversmith c...

This nicely decorated mocha or demitasse spoon measures about 10 cms and 5 grams, and is marked with the small sword (1814-1905) and the maker's mark; "ES". Any information on the zilversmid, the age, the town or just about anything else about this spoon would be appreciated! https://i.img...
