A similar instrument is in the British Royal Collection and it is marked by Raimund Laminit, about 1520 to 1600, Augsburg.

A c. 1600 combination tongue depressor and tongue scraper is only marked with an R. It is probably that the silver piece was made in London. Does anyone recognize the maker?

I have a high-end c. 1830 minor surgical set by Sir Henry, Paris, that contains many silver instruments. The silversmith's mark is a chalice flanked by the letters L and S.
